I am very pleased to welcome all families to the 2024 school year at St Patrick's College, Gympie.
We are an authentic Catholic College which welcomes students from all faiths and backgrounds and where we embrace the diversity of our family demographics, in offering a learning and teaching agenda that meets the needs of our students with a strong future focus.
At St Patrick's College we foster an environment of high expectations and high support for all stakeholders and are guided by the shared values and beliefs of the “St Pat's Way" documents for staff, students and parents.
The college has a reputation for successfully preparing our graduates to be positive contributors to society by setting high standards in all aspects of the life of the College. We offer a comprehensive curriculum and in addition to our core subjects, students will experience a wide range of elective options before choosing their Academic and Vocational specialisations for their senior years.
We provide a comprehensive Pastoral Care program as we understand that student wellbeing is imperative for all students to achieve to their potential. We are committed to being authentic in preparing our students for the challenges presented by the modern society, while retaining the unique traditions and practices that are our foundation and give us our family friendly atmosphere.

Principal History
and Mission
The Parish and our College have welcomed many students and their families since
the Sisters of Mercy came to Gympie in 1879 and the Christian Brothers later
joined them in 1904. The charisms of Catherine McAuley and Edmund Rice form our
strong educational community focusing on the spiritual, pastoral, academic and
physical support of the students. This is reflected in our Mission today.
St.
Patrick's College aspires to be a community based on Gospel values of love,
forgiveness, respect, sensitivity and justice.
We strive to:
Foster a deepening personal
commitment to God.
Our
connection to St Patrick's Church and Parish is important as we recognise and
contribute to our broader faith community. This, with our Religious Education
program and the prayer life of the College contributes to the students living
the ethos of the Sisters of Mercy and the Christian Brothers.
Witness to Gospel values and the
Christian way of life in our dealings with each other and the wider community
In
a respectful community such as ours, each student and community member strives
to accept their individual responsibility of witnessing the Gospel values of
the Catholic Church. These are at the core of our relationships with one
another and are significant in supporting adolescent students in the global
digital context in which we live. Our values of sensitivity for others,
forgiveness and justice are modelled through our fundraising initiatives and
projects working for social justice. Our students often lead activities
that engage our local community and contribute to both local and global
communities.
Promote spiritual, intellectual,
emotional, social and physical development
As
lifelong learners, all members of our community are encouraged to develop their
skills in all areas in the pursuit of personal excellence. As each student's
light is different, many diverse curriculum and co-curricular opportunities are
provided so that each has the opportunity to 'let their light shine'. Witnessing
their development is a privilege.
