About Us

St Patrick's College is situated on top of Calton Hill and is bounded by Church and Bligh Streets. The college is in close proximity to both St Patrick's School (Primary) and St Patrick's Church.

St Patrick's Primary School is our main feeder school.

Our College was established in 1983 by the amalgamation of the Sisters of Mercy High School for Girls and the Christian Brothers College for Boys. Enrolments at that time were 290 students.


In our Mission Statement, we state -

St Patrick’s College aspires to be a community based on Gospel values of love, forgiveness, compassion, respect, sensitivity and justice, expressed through the Catholic tradition.

We strive to -

  • Foster a deepening personal commitment to God
  • Witness to Gospel values and the Christian way of life in our dealings with each other and the wider community
  • Promote spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical development
  • Recognise and foster the talents and potential of each member of our College community.

​​​As well the College has a complement of Teaching and Administrative Staff. For 2023 the College has around 500​​​ students in our six (6) year levels.

 

The College has four (4) House Groups - Horan, Rice​, McAuley, and Chisholm. These Houses are named after people of significance to College life and growth. For more details about this please follow the links above.
